Prosecutors informed the court that the victims, both foreign nationals, had directly nominated Raza Dar in their statements. They argued that the incident had severely tarnished the country’s reputation abroad and stressed the need for thorough interrogation of the suspects.
The prosecution requested a 14-day physical remand to facilitate investigation.
However, after hearing arguments, the judicial magistrate reserved the decision and later announced the verdict, granting physical remand of Raza Dar, Hassan Raza, Sikandar Khan, and Sajid Ali till July 8, directing police to present the accused on Wednesday.
It may be added here that the case has drawn significant attention due to its sensitive nature, involving foreign victims and allegations of ransom demands, with authorities under pressure to ensure accountability and safeguard Pakistan’s international image.
