Coronavirus claims 945,000 lives worldwide

WASHINGTON: The coronavirus has killed 945,097 people worldwide and infected 30,038,411.

Around the world, 21,806,713 people infected with coronavirus have recovered and the number of active cases has come down to 7,288,425.

The United States ranks first among the countries affected by the coronavirus, with 21348 deaths and more than 6828,000 people diagnosed with the virus.

India ranks second in the world in terms of coronavirus cases. In India, the total number has risen to more than 5.115 million after more than 97,000 cases were reported from coronavirus in a single day, with more than 1,100 deaths in 24 hours. The total number of deaths from coronavirus in India has reached 83,230.

Brazil is the third most affected country by the coronavirus, with 44.21 million people affected and 134,174 deaths. Russia ranks fourth among countries infected with the coronavirus, with more than 1,079,000 people infected with the coronavirus and a total death toll of 18,917.

In Peru, more than 744,000 people have been affected, while 31,051 people have lost their lives. Colombia ranks sixth among countries infected with the coronavirus, with 23,478 deaths and more than 736,000 reported cases.

The death toll from coronavirus in South Africa has risen to 15,705, with more than 653,000 people affected. In Mexico, more than 680,000 people were affected and 71,978 died.

The first case of coronavirus was reported on 17th November 2019 in China, and on 6th March, the number of cases worldwide exceeded one million.
