KARACHI: Pakistan Coastguards continued their operations against illegal activities and seized narcotics worth million rupees and thousands of liters of smuggled Iranian diesel while one drug dealer was also arrested.
According to details, Pakistan Coast Guards released a report of operations carried out during the last two weeks. The authorities recovered 7.15 kg of high-quality hashish and more than 4 kg of opium from a passenger traveling in a coach from Quetta to Karachi at Neko Khera check post in Balochistan.
In another operation in Winder town, weapons were found buried underground while searching a suspicious place. It includes one Kalashnikov, 9 pistols and 163 rounds of ammunition. According to the coastguard, the weapons were hidden for use in a terrorist attack.
In the third operation, the coastguard searched various vehicles at Neko Khera check post during which 6,157 kg of smuggled clothes, 1,549 stacks of foreign cigarettes, 1,856 packets of Indian gutka, 184 blankets, 170 bags of Chinese salt and other items were confiscated
During the fourth operation, 54,700 liters of Iranian diesel was recovered from the Daam area near Winder during a mobile patrol, while the fifth operation was carried out in Pasni where 17,000 liters of Iranian diesel was recovered.
The coastguards said all the drugs, weapons, and smuggled are worth tens of millions of rupees. The coastguard has reiterated its commitment to continue the operation against drug dealers and other illegal activities.
