CM Sindh’s brother-in-law dies from coronavirus in Karachi

KARACHI: Brother-in-law of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah passed away on Thursday in Karachi after suffering from the novel coronavirus.
Syed Mehdi Shah was under treatment at a local hospital in Karachi for the past three weeks and lost his battle against the deadly virus. He had contracted the virus soon after returning from Iraq. The deceased was a government servant and was currently posted as Managing Director in SITE area of Karachi.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail expressed sorrow over the death of Sindh CM’s brother-in-law and prayed for the departed soul. The number of positive cases in Sindh is 1,128, out of which 349 have recovered.

Earlier, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah hinted at an extension of lockdown in Sindh by a week from April 14. He said that they want a uniform policy to be implemented to tackle coronavirus in all provinces. However, he said that any decision on an extension in lockdown period will be taken after approval from the provincial cabinet
