KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, in a surprise visit across Karachi, stopped by at a soft drink corner run by an old blind man on the city’s Tariq Road and listened to his plea.
The blind vendor had pleaded with various Karachi stakeholders including the chief minister through a board hanging behind his refrigerator which stated, “Please don’t harass me and have mercy on this old man”.
During the visit, the chief minister saw the board and decided to have a cold drink on a scorching summer day. CM Murad asked the elderly who was bothering him. The man replied that the police and the administration were harassing him.

Murad immediately called the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) East, SSP East and the Administrator Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) and directed them not to harass the elderly man.
The Chief Minister also told them that they should buy from the man’s soft drink corner whenever they visit the locality. “This old man is the best example of hard work and self-sacrifice and we need to encourage him,” he further said.
