The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has stated that India should not harbor any delusion or misconception, warning that Pakistan’s response the next time will be even more swift and severe.
A prestigious ceremony was held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi to present a Guard of Honour to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces.
In his address, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir termed the establishment of the new Defence Forces Headquarters (DFHQ) a fundamental and historic change.
He stressed that in view of evolving and increasing threats, it is essential to further improve multi-domain operations under a unified system of the three armed forces. The establishment of the DFHQ is a necessary step towards this transformation.
Addressing the officers of the three Armed Forces, the CDF said that each service would retain its individuality for its operational readiness, while the DFHQ would coordinate and harmonize the operations of the services.
He emphasized that the three forces would maintain their internal autonomy and organizational structure.
Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reiterated his warning to India, saying, “India should not harbor any delusion or misconception. Next time, Pakistan’s response will be even more swift and severe.” He added that Pakistan is a peace-loving country, but no one will be allowed to challenge Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, or our resolve. “No one should dare to test our resolve.”
The Chief of Defence Forces delivered a clear message to the Taliban regime, stating that they have no option but to choose between ‘Fitna Al-Khawarij’ (mischief/sedition) or Pakistan. He asserted that the concept of Pakistan is invincible, protected by the unwavering resolve of a united nation and valiant personnel brimming with faith.
Earlier, a Guard of Honour was presented to Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, who also serves as the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, by contingents of the three Armed Forces.
The ceremony was attended by high-ranking military officials, including Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu. The special guest was presented with a general salute by the honour guard, and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir inspected the contingent.
