ISLAMABAD: The corrupt officials of Capital Development Authority (CDA) along with land mafia illegally demolished a newspaper stall, at Islamabad’s Curry Road, by declaring it illegal.
According to details, the newspaper stall was almost ten years old and was built with a regular personal allotment by the then CDA chairman.
Sources revealed that during the illegal operation, apart from demolishing the newspapers stall, the encroachment team of the development authority didn’t demolish the reaming illegal stalls.
The owner of the newspaper’s stall, while protesting against the CDA’s illegal move, said that it was personally allotted during the tenure of CDA chairman Lashari.
“The reason behind demolishing the stall was the corruption allegations that were published in various newspapers,” he said adding that the journalists’ unions will stage a protest against the authority and will also file a case in the high court.
It has been revealed that illegal construction continued in the federal capital with the alleged patronage of Capital Development Authority (CDA).
According to details, the land mafia in Islamabad’s Sector G-7, with the connivance of CDA involvement, has broken the stairs of a petrol pump and illegally built a shop at the main street.
