QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) on Monday quashed the remaining three cases registered against PTI Senator Azam Swati. The cases were registered in Vinder, Bela and Chaman. Justice Abdul Hameed Baloch announced the verdict reserved earlier.
On December 9, the BHC had ordered to quash all the first information reports (FIRs) registered against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Swati. A total of 5 FIRs had surfaced by then, including those registered in Kuchlak, Khuzdar, Pasni, Zhob and other parts of Balochistan.
Swati was flown to Qambar near Larkana after the December 9 BHC verdict, from where he was flown to Islamabad when Sindh High Court ordered to set him free after declaring all FIRs registered against him for the same single offence as null and void. Both the BHC and the SHC had barred provincial police from registering any further FIR against 74 year old Senator for the same offence reportedly committed in Islamabad.
