QUETTA: The ruling coalition partners, the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), have reached an understanding to hold consultations on a possible reshuffle of the Balochistan cabinet, sources said.
According to sources, the two parties have established high-level contact to discuss matters related to the provincial government and are expected to meet soon.
The PML-N has nominated National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq to represent the party in the consultations, while the PPP has nominated senior leader Mir Aijaz Jakhrani.
Sources said Ayaz Sadiq and Mir Aijaz Jakhrani will hold consultations on the proposed Balochistan cabinet reshuffle and prepare a report containing recommendations, which will be submitted to the leadership of both parties.
A major reshuffle in the Balochistan cabinet is under consideration, with the portfolios of ministers from both the PPP and PML-N likely to be changed.
Some ministers may be removed from the cabinet, while new ministers and advisers are also expected to be inducted, sources added.
The proposed changes are likely to be implemented within the next month, following consultations and approval by the leadership of the coalition partners.
