ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has rejected the First Information Report (FIR) registered by Wazirabad Police into the incident of assassination attempt on party Chairman Imran Khan’s life on November 3, in which one person lost life and 13 others were injured.
The FIR was registered by Wazirabad Police hours after Supreme Court’s orders yesterday (Monday), in which the APEX court had warned of Suo Motu action if the police failed to lodge the complaint. The FIR, however, was lodged 96 hours after the Wazirabad assassination attempt, that too, setting aside names given by PTI as prime suspects.

The FIR has mentioned Naveed Meher as prime suspect, with no indication of anyone else involved in the incident. PTI, on the other hand, wanted to nominate Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and Maj Gen Faisal Naseer of ISI as prime suspects.
Taking to Twitter, PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry outrightly rejected the FIR, calling it a useless paper.

Fawad Chaudhry said PTI had already made public its stance that if the names of Shehbaz Sharif, Rana Sanaullah and Maj Gen Faisal Naseer were included in the FIR, only then the party would recognize it as a legal paper. However, he said, since none of the above mentioned name was included in the FIR, it had no value whatsoever, and the FIR was nothing but a useless piece of paper.
