Pakistan is expected to make significant changes to its playing XI ahead of their high-stakes Asia Cup Super Four match against India today, according to media sources.
Following a disappointing defeat to India in the group stage, the team management is reportedly looking to tweak the lineup in hopes of a better performance. Two players from the previous encounter against India are not expected to feature in today’s match.
Sources indicate that while a 12-man squad has been shortlisted, the inclusion of Khushdil Shah, who had replaced Faheem Ashraf in the UAE match, appears unlikely in the final XI.
Middle-order batter Hassan Nawaz and spinner Sufiyan Muqeem are also expected to miss out, with the team opting for a different strategy this time around.
Pakistan is said to be planning a pace-heavy attack to counter India’s strong batting lineup, moving away from a spin-focused approach used in earlier matches.
