Actor Agha Ali has finally responded to the criticism he has been facing after making controversial comments on body shaming on a live morning show.
The Khoob Seerat actor and his wife Hina Altaf recently made an appearance on a morning show and shared experience about their life as a newly-wed couple. While answering one of the questions, Hina revealed that right before their wedding, Agha showed her a picture on his phone and just asked Hina, “If you ever get this fat…” but before completing her sentence, Agha interrupted her at once.
Agha then explained what he meant. “Before our marriage, I only asked for one promise. I said that I don’t want anything else except this one promise,” he said before turning to Hina, asking her to share the promise. “Please do not get fat,” said Hina, as Agha and Nida laughed along.
Since then, the actor is being criticised on his negative remarks on body shaming. Stand-up comedian Ali Gul Pir also slammed Agha Ali by recreating a video with a caption, “Love yourself and others the way they are #ThickIsHot #NoFatShaming #BodyPositive #More2Love.”
However, Agha Ali in his Instagram post responded to the comments people had made on his negative remarks on body shaming.
“What is body shaming? Do you really know? Has anyone seen e fun of an overweight person? Has anyone seen me discussing a fat person in a funny manner or in any manner? Me asking my wife not to gain unnecessary weight, as she is an actress. She has to keep fit!”
“I asked my wife to gain weight, she is an actress and needs to look fit as no producer and director or writer would like to have an overweight heroine. and also she was chubby before and has worked really hard to keep fit. I myself had a weight loss journey I had nothing but negligence from the society, so what I really asked from my wife never to gain unnecessary weight. people only criticize who when they have nothing else to do and to seek attention,” the actor posted.
