LAHORE: An accountability court has extended the judicial remand of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz for three days in the assets case.
AC Judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry conducted the hearing which Hamza Shehbaz did not attend due to coronavirus outbreak. An Accountability Court, however, extended his hearing over judicial remand and directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) officials to immediately summoned him.
Hamza Shehbaz along with his father Shehbaz Sharif is accused of making a drain in Chiniot which benefitted their Ramzan Sugar Mill. He was arrested by the NAB in the same case 11th June last year.
Earlier this week, the Lahore High Court had turned down Hamza Shehbaz’s bail petition that he filed on grounds of coronavirus risk in prison. A two-member bench of LHC comprising Justice Syed Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi and Justice Sardar Ahmed Naeem heard the case.
The judge during the hearing remarked that Hamza Shehbaz’s bail petition has already been dismissed. The judge further stated that the petitioner must move to the Supreme Court.
