ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit South Waziristan today to attend a ceremony of the Kamyab Jawan Programme as the chief guest.
According to details, the prime minister will visit South Waziristan today during which various development projects in the region will be launched. Under the Successful Youth Program, PM Imran Khan will also distribute checks to the needy to start new businesses.
The prime minister will also meet various political figures and senior officials in South Waziristan today. It should be noted that the area of South Waziristan is a victim of terrorism nowadays.
Earlier, security forces in South Waziristan killed two militants during an operation and detained one wounded. Security forces had killed two terrorists belonging to the banned organization during an operation in the Nargosa area of South Waziristan two days ago. One terrorist was also injured during the exchange of fire and was arrested.
On 14th October last year, a convoy of security forces was attacked with improvised explosive devices near Razmak which resulted in the martyrdom of Captain Umer and five soldiers. The banned TTP had claimed responsibility for the attack. TTP spokesperson Mohammad Khurasani said in a brief statement at the time that members of his group carried out the attack in the Shaktoi area adjacent to North Waziristan.
