KARACHI: A case was registered today (Tuesday) against an unidentified man for allegedly kidnapping a 5-year-old girl, Urva Fahim, who went missing from Karachi’s Surjani Town Sector 4D.
According to police, the girl’s family in the FIR said that the Urva Fahim left home, along with her 7-year-old sister, at night at around 9.30 pm. “Later, an unidentified man forcibly abducted 5-year-old Urva and fled away from the scene,” FIR added.
The complainant said the family looked for her on their own but in vain. Later, he added, they approached police to register the case. Police said a case had been registered and efforts were being made to find the girl.
Meanwhile, a police spokesperson informed that there is a lack of CCTV in the residential areas of Surjani.
Earlier in October, a minor girl’s burnt body was recovered from a trash heap on an empty plot in Karachi’s Old Sabzi Mandi area. The five-year-old victim of suspected rape and mutilation, Marwah, was reported missing from the same place two days before her lifeless body was found.
