Five Steps To Help You Stay Cool During A Heatwave

A heatwave is a period of excessively hot weather that is mostly accompanied by high humidity. It is considered extreme weather that can be a natural disaster, and a danger because heat and sunlight may overheat the human body.
In Pakistan, especially in Karachi, the weather throughout the year is mostly hot and humid due to the Arabian sea. By every passing year, the temperature in the city has been rising and badly affects everyday life. 
These five steps will help you stay cool during a heatwave.
1) Dress light

During summers, the light dressing is the right dressing. Try to wear fabric like cotton as to will prevent the body from overheating.
2) Avoid caffeine

Substances like coffee and tea can act as diuretics as too much caffeine in the hot weather raises body temperature and can make you feel hotter.
3) Stay hydrated

Consume more water than you usually do, even if you are not thirsty. You sweat more when the temperature’s hot, drinking water helps replenish the fluids lost by excessive sweating.
4) Try to stay indoor

Try your best to stay indoor especially during daylight from 11 am to 4 pm. The weather during this time is quite hot, the rays directly affect you and can cause dehydration. 
5) Eat fresh

Eat fresh foods that do not require you to use the oven or stove to prepare. Try to avoid eating spit and hot foods instead eat dark leafy greens, they have high-water content.
