RAWALPINDI: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Afnan Ullah Khan has accused Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera of registering fake FIRs and being involved in corruption. Rawalpindi Police, however, has rejected the allegations as baseless and contrary to the facts.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Senator Afnan Ullah Khan strongly criticised Rawalpindi CPO Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera.

The senator alleged that Sukhera had broken all records for corruption. He further claimed that false FIRs were registered against individuals to put them under pressure, followed by demands for money.
Rawalpindi Police, on the other hand, rejected the allegations, describing them as completely baseless and contrary to the facts.
In its response on X, the police clarified that the case in question relates to Wah Cantt Police Station, where the complainant had submitted an application for registration of an FIR. According to police, the application was processed under the supervision of the relevant Superintendent of Police (SP).

The police stated that the circumstances surrounding the incident required further verification. However, an FIR was registered on the basis of the complainant’s medico-legal report.
According to police officials, the arrest of the suspects named in the case was put on hold to ensure that the requirements of justice were met and that the facts could be established through a merit-based investigation.
Rawalpindi Police strongly rejected what it described as baseless allegations made without proper verification by Senator Afnan Ullah Khan.
