QUETTA: A wave of fear swept through residents of Balochistan’s border city of Chaman and adjoining areas after earthquake tremors were felt in the region.
According to the national earthquake monitoring agency, the earthquake measured 3.8 on the Richter scale and occurred at a depth of 12 kilometres. The epicentre was located near Chaman.
Following the sudden tremors, residents came out of their homes, shops and offices and gathered in open areas while reciting the Kalma Tayyaba. A sense of fear and panic prevailed for some time.

According to initial reports, no loss of life or damage to property has been reported in connection with the earthquake. The relevant authorities are monitoring the situation.
