Rawalpindi: The Pakistan-Russia joint military exercise Druzhba-IX and the Pakistan-Oman joint military exercise Al-Wishaq Al-Jabal-II have commenced, with contingents of the Russian Armed Forces and the Royal Army of Oman participating alongside the Pakistan Army.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Pakistan-Russia exercise Druzhba-IX began at Cherat, while the Pakistan-Oman exercise Al-Wishaq Al-Jabal-II commenced at the National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Pabbi.
The two-week-long joint exercises will focus on various counter-terrorism drills and training procedures. The participating forces will also share their operational experiences and best practices with one another.
The ISPR said the joint training would further enhance the combat capabilities and tactical skills of the participating forces. The exercises will also contribute to strengthening defence cooperation, interoperability and the capacity for joint operations among Pakistan, Russia and Oman.
