A 14-year-old boy, identified as Adnan, who had been missing for two days, was found dead near a railway line in Shujabad, Multan, police said.
According to police, a missing-person report had been registered at Shujabad Police Station two days earlier after the teenager left his home and failed to return.
Police launched a search operation and later found the boy’s body near a railway track. His family was informed, and the body was shifted to a hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Police said the circumstances surrounding the teenager’s death were being investigated. They added that suicide was among the possibilities being considered, but the exact cause of death would be established after the postmortem report.
Last week, a three-year-old missing boy from Kahna was found dead in a sewage pond in Bilal Town, Naseebabad.

The deceased Muhammad Hasnain’s father, Sabir, had lodged a kidnapping case after he had gone missing.
According to the family, the child was visiting his maternal uncle’s home from where he had gone out at night and had not returned.
After being informed about the corpse, police and forensics teams collected evidence before shifting it to a hospital for post-mortem examination. An investigation was under way.
