The body of an 8- to 10-year-old girl has been found along a drain in Gulrez Phase 2, within the jurisdiction of Chaklala Police Station, Rawalpindi.
According to local media reports, local residents gathered after being informed about the discovery, while police and rescue personnel also reached the scene.
Rawalpindi Police said the body was found near a dilapidated drain and appeared to be several days old. It is suspected that the body may have been swept into the drain.
Police also suspect that the body could belong to a girl who went missing from the jurisdiction of Waris Khan Police Station during recent rains.
Chaklala Police have informed Waris Khan Police about the discovery of the unidentified body. Further investigation is underway to establish the girl’s identity and determine the circumstances surrounding her death.
Earlier, a 14-year-old boy, identified as Adnan, who had been missing for two days, was found dead near a railway line in Shujabad, Multan, police said.Translation Tools & Resources

According to police, a missing-person report had been registered at Shujabad Police Station two days earlier after the teenager left his home and failed to return.
Police launched a search operation and later found the boy’s body near a railway track. His family was informed, and the body was shifted to a hospital for a postmortem examination to determine the cause of death.
