MURIDKE: Police in Muridke have registered a case after an alleged rape incident in the Zafar Park area, and arrested the named accused, officials said.
According to the first information report (FIR), the victim was playing outside her home when a neighbor called her over on the pretext of giving her boxes of chorban.
The neighbor allegedly took the girl to the roof of the house, where, police said, she was subjected to sexual assault.
The FIR further states that the accused allegedly tortured the girl after she made noise. Hearing the commotion, the accused reportedly fled the scene, leaving the victim in distress. The crying girl then returned home and informed her mother about the incident.
Acting on the complaint, police registered a case and arrested the accused named in the FIR.
Investigators said they have launched further inquiry into the matter and will take legal action in accordance with the evidence collected during the investigation.
