The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the price of electricity by 75 paise per unit across Pakistan.
According to the announcement, electricity has been increased in the monthly adjustment for June. The monthly adjustment will also be applied to K-Electric consumers.
The increase will be applied in the bills of August this month. CPPA had demanded an increase of one rupee 20 paise per unit in the June adjustment. Earlier, electricity was increased by 34 paise across the country in the May adjustment.
Meanwhile, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has amended the Solar Regulations 2026, making it easier for small-scale solar consumers to install renewable energy systems.
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, consumers generating up to 25 kilowatts (kW) of electricity through solar systems will no longer be required to obtain prior approval from the regulator.
Instead, the relevant electricity distribution company (DISCO) has been authorized to approve directly, simplifying the application process for eligible consumers.
