Several milestones underscore how decisive Episode 9 has been for the series.
It marked Agent Kim Reactivated’s sixth consecutive broadcast surpassing 20 percent nationwide, while also ranking at the top of its time slot and emerging as the highest-rated miniseries across both public and cable channels for the week.
The momentum heading into the finale is being credited to the penultimate episode’s high-voltage setup, featuring an intense hostage standoff and a high-octane rescue operation involving So Ji-sub, Choi Dae-hoon, and Yoon Kyung-ho, which has primed viewers for the drama’s last act.
With the finale airing tonight at 9:45 PM, the series is now poised to deliver its cruellest choice yet.
The preview shows Joo Kang-chan kidnapping Seong Han-su’s son Tae-hoon and Park Jin-cheol’s daughter Da-bin, then forcing the three fathers into a cage while issuing a chilling condition: “If 66 dies, the children live.” With their children held hostage, Han-su and Jin-cheol are left facing a brutal test of loyalty, as the long-awaited alliance between the trio is transformed into a confrontation shaped by survival and sacrifice.
The trailer also raises the stakes further, depicting Agent Kim urging Han-su to take care of Min-ji, fueling fears that the finale may ask him to pay the ultimate price. After a week of record-setting viewership and relentless escalation, viewers will now learn whether friendship and fatherhood can hold under the pressure of a mission that appears to offer only impossible outcomes.
