LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board has approved an increase in match fees for national team players, along with a higher budget for domestic cricket and infrastructure upgrades.
At a Board of Governors meeting chaired by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, the board unanimously approved the surplus budget for fiscal year 2026-27. The meeting also approved making the Pakistan Super League administratively and financially autonomous, along with the budget for PSL 12.
The board decided to raise the domestic cricket budget from Rs3 billion to Rs4 billion. Naqvi also approved a new central contract format, payment procedures, and higher match fees for national players.
New match fee structure
Sources said Test players will now receive Rs1.5 million per match, ODI players Rs650,000, and T20 players Rs450,000.
Players in Category A and B will feature in ODIs and Tests. A Category-A Test player will get Rs1.5 million per match, while an A-category ODI player will receive Rs750,000. An A-category T20 player will be paid Rs650,000 per match.
A Category-B ODI player will get Rs750,000, and a B-category T20 player Rs500,000. Category-C players will play only T20s for Rs500,000 per match, and will also receive Rs500,000 if selected for an ODI.

The BoG also approved raising Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match fees from Rs30,000 to Rs100,000, and reserve players’ fees from Rs15,000 to Rs50,000.
Funds were allocated for women’s ODI and T20 tournaments, while the minimum salary for regional ground staff was set at Rs42,000.
The board approved Rs6.7 billion for making 12 more grounds operational and upgrading infrastructure, including the National Stadium. Funds were also sanctioned to install a biomechanics machine at the Lahore High Performance Centre.
