KARACHI: A water pipeline burst and traffic flow was disrupted in Karachi’s Shahrah-e-Faisal here on Friday morning.
As the water gushing out from the burst pipeline spread on all the roads, the flow of traffic was badly disrupted. Pedestrians were the worst sufferers, as they had no choice but to wade through the stagnant water.
Karachi traffic police said “We regret the inconvenience caused by this unfortunate incident and are in contact with Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) management for restoration efforts.
The pipeline failure has submerged the road with fresh water, making it difficult for the vehicles to pass through easily.
The Karachi traffic police have advised motorists to exercise caution while driving on the specified road due to skidding wet surfaces due to pipeline burst. Thousands of freshwater gallons are being wasted due to the non-fixation of the leakage.
Sources said the incident had caused “partial disruptions” in the KWSB’s water supply operations in various neighborhoods.
