The State Bank of Pakistan has rejected reports claiming that new currency notes will not be available for Eid ul-Fitr 2026.

According to ProPakistani, a spokesperson for the central bank clarified that no statement had been issued regarding the availability of fresh notes.

The spokesperson added that any such announcement would be released through an official press statement, as the bank communicates with the public and mainstream media via formal press releases.

He further explained that any circulating message making contrary claims can only be considered authentic if issued directly by the State Bank. The bank does not send such notifications through unofficial letters or SMS messages.

A fake letter circulating on social media had claimed that new notes would not be issued, that the SMS service for fresh currency would be inactive, and that citizens should rely on digital payment methods instead.
