KARACHI: Town Chairman Korangi, Naeem Sheikh, has strongly rejected the news of his arrest aired on a national news channel, terming it as baseless and fabricated.
In a statement, Naeem Sheikh said it is beyond understanding what purpose is being served by spreading such false news. He clarified that the report of his arrest is contrary to facts.
“Someone may have a desire, but Allah is the greatest dispenser of justice,” he said.
He added that workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are facing the worst harassment in the current era, noting that PPP workers were also martyred in Orangi Town a few days ago.
“God’s curse be upon those who spread false news,” the Town Chairman said, adding that the future course of action will be decided after consultation with his lawyers.
According to Muhammad Naeem Sheikh, the PPP leadership and senior party leaders have also been informed regarding the false news of his arrest broadcast on the national channel.
