Residents and students in the federal capital are gearing up for a long weekend as a combination of national holidays, community observances, and the start of winter vacations has officially created a four-day break from December 25 to December 28, 2025.

The extended period of rest is the result of several overlapping events.
Thursday, December 25
A nationwide public holiday to commemorate Quaid-e-Azam Day (the birth anniversary of Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah) and Christmas.
Friday, December 26
An additional holiday designated by the federal government for the Christian community to continue their Christmas festivities.
