Gamers certainly don’t like it as Rockstar Games’ “Grand Theft Auto 6” has been delayed, for a second time in less than a year, until 19 November 2026.
One of the most eagerly awaited release, the sequel was supposed to come out in May 2026.
Confirming the news on Thursday, Rockstar explains why it needs more time to deliver the “level of polish” players expect from the studio.
“We realize this has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game properly,” the developer said.
Hi everyone,

It should be noted that the latest in the series GTA 5, was released in 2013 and it still is the second best-selling game of all time despite being more than a decade old.
The announcement about GTA 6 ignited the usual storm of reactions on social media — a mix of frustration, humor, and reluctant acceptance.
Streamer IShowSpeed delivered his trademark dramatic response during a live broadcast, exclaiming, “I’m gonna be 50 before this game comes out. I might have kids, I might have a wife!”
Even Lofi Girl, the animated YouTube character known for her endless study sessions since 2017, joined in on the fun, joking that she “might actually graduate before GTA 6.”
Here are some of the reactions:
I was 25 when GTA 5 came out. Lord willing, I’ll literally be 39 when GTA 6 releases. Now we wait a whole year once again. Thanks @RockstarGames pic.twitter.com/29qP6Qu8Fp
