A case has been registered in Peshawar, the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, regarding the alleged abduction of PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) leader Sanam Javed. Police have started an investigation into the incident. The case was registered on the instructions of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur.
According to details, the case was filed at Peshawar’s East Police Station by Sanam Javed’s friend, who is a female lawyer. As per the FIR registered on the CM’s directives, the complainant stated that at around 10:30 PM, while they were going towards Cantt after having dinner at a café, two vehicles carrying five unidentified men intercepted them.
After stopping Sanam Javed on a busy road in Peshawar, five individuals forcibly put her into their vehicle and drove away, according to the contents of the FIR. The provincial government stated that, following the Chief Minister’s strict instructions, immediate action has been initiated against the kidnappers.
The text of the FIR further mentions that this grave incident raises questions about the rule of law; therefore, an immediate investigation should be conducted, and those involved must be arrested.
It should be remembered that the Anti-Terrorism Court Lahore had sentenced Sanam Javed to five years in prison in the Shadman Police Station arson case of May 9, 2023.
Earlier, on April 27, she was arrested for allegedly posting propaganda material on social media against the heads of state institutions. She had also been arrested previously last year.
It is noteworthy that Sanam Javed’s sister, Falak Javed, was also arrested last month by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in connection with the case involving fake videos of Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari.
