Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra have been embroiled in a major financial scandal. The Mumbai Police has issued a lookout notice against Raj Kundra in an alleged fraud case worth ₹60 crores to prevent him from leaving the country.
According to media reports, businessman Deepak Kothari filed a police complaint alleging that Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra had committed a major financial fraud against him. The case is linked to the couple’s now-defunct company, Best Deal TV Private Limited.

The complainant alleges that the accused first took a loan and then presented it as an investment, promising monthly returns. However, over eight years from 2015 to 2023, the money collected was spent on personal expenses instead of being used for business.
Police officials state that the company ran into trouble in 2016 when Shilpa Shetty resigned as a director, and the company subsequently went bankrupt. The Economic Affairs Wing has registered a case and informed immigration authorities to prevent the couple from traveling abroad.
Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s lawyer has denied all allegations, calling them baseless. They maintain that this is purely an old business dispute with no criminal angle and that the matter is of a civil nature.
