Mumbai Police have registered an FIR against Karan Singh, the producer of the Hindi film So Long Valley, after model Ruchi Gujjar accused him of cheating her out of Rs 23 lakh.
The incident came to light when videos of Gujjar slapping Singh during the film’s premiere on Friday night went viral. According to police, Gujjar had filed a complaint a day earlier at Oshiwara police station, alleging that Singh had taken Rs 23 lakh from her with promises of a stake in a television film project, profit sharing, and on-screen credit.
However, Gujjar claimed the project never materialized, and Singh neither fulfilled his promises nor returned her money. “The complainant stated that the project never materialised and Singh didn’t return her money,” a police official confirmed.
Gujjar’s lawyer has also announced plans to file another FIR against Singh at Amboli police station, accusing him of physically assaulting the model.
So Long Valley is a Hindi crime thriller featuring actors Tridha Choudhury and Vikram Kochhar.
