A bus from Karachi heading to Keenjhar Lake for a picnic met with an accident on the National Highway in Thatta, resulting in the deaths of six people, as reported by national media on Sunday.
According to details, the bus overturned due to speeding near Darsgah Muhammad Ali on the National Highway in Thatta, causing six fatalities and injuring over 20 others. A report citing rescue sources claimed that the picnic bus was traveling from Karachi to Keenjhar Lake when the accident occurred.
It is worth noting that this is not the first incident of a bus overturning due to speeding. Accidents like these have become common due to reckless speeding and racing by drivers who use drugs. In a separate incident near Khairpur on the National Highway, three people were killed and over 25 injured when a passenger coach overturned.
According to police, the passenger coach was en route from Karachi to Mansehra, and the accident occurred due to speeding in rainy conditions. Officials stated that bus owners should conduct medical tests of drivers before handing over vehicles, and drivers responsible for accidents due to speeding should not be allowed to drive again.
