In a profound gesture of compassion and solidarity, a Turkish bride has donated the gold she received as dowry during her wedding to aid the people of Gaza.
According to a report by Jordanian news outlet Roya News, the bride—who has chosen to remain anonymous—resides in Turkey’s Batman province. The gold, valued at approximately $40,000, was gifted to her as part of traditional wedding customs.
The bride said that she wished her wedding to serve as a meaningful beginning for charitable efforts, particularly those aimed at easing the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza amid the ongoing Israeli military operations.
She expressed hope that her contribution would inspire others to show solidarity and extend support to those enduring the crisis.
Meanwhile, Amnesty International on Tuesday accused Israel of committing a “live-streamed genocide” against Palestinians in Gaza by forcibly displacing most of the population and deliberately creating a humanitarian catastrophe.
In its annual report, Amnesty charged that Israel had acted with “specific intent to destroy Palestinians in Gaza, thus committing genocide”.
In relentless Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip and a ground operation have claimed at least 52,243 dead.
