KARACHI: Customs authorities claimed to have recovered smuggled clothes worth millions of rupees from a shopping mall on Karachi’s Tariq Road on Monday.
According to customs authorities, a custom team on a tip-off, conducted a raid at a shopping mall located at Karachi’s Tariq Road, during the raid the team recovered smuggled clothes when it was being moved from the mall.
It further stated that the clothes were loaded in seven five trucks. The customs team faced resistance, however, it managed to confiscate the smuggled item.
The customs officials said the clothes worth millions of rupees were also concealed in several shops of the mall. on December 18, customs officials had raided at the Port Qasim in Karachi and seized Indian-origin beauty products.

The confiscated body cream weighed more than 4500 kilograms and worth up-to Rs 3.3 million. The customs officials had seized all the material and further action was underway to nab culprits involved in it.
It further disclosed that the “The cream was imported by an agent of a Lahore-based firm,” they had said adding that the documents showed that the cream was imported from European Union.
