In a bid to commemorate Pakistan People’s Party founder and former Prime Minister Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s death anniversary, the Sindh government has declared a public holiday on April 4. This means that employees of the Sindh government will have an eight-day break on Eidul Fitr, from Saturday, March 29, to Sunday, April 6, if they take a day off on Thursday, April 3.
Earlier, the federal government had announced Eidul Fitr holidays from March 31 to April 2. The Eidul Fitr holidays are preceded by two weekly offs on Saturday and Sunday (March 29 and 30), and now the Sindh government has announced April 4 as a public holiday in the province for the provincial government, all government offices, autonomous bodies, and educational institutions under its administrative control.
Friday, April 4, will be followed by another couple of weekly offs on Saturday and Sunday (April 5 and 6), so just taking a day off on April 3 can give employees an eight-day break for Eidul Fitr festivities.

Pakistan announces Eidul Fitr 2025 holidays
Eidul Fitr, which is celebrated on the first day of Shawwal in the Islamic calendar, is determined by the sighting of the Shawwal crescent moon.
The Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council predicts that Eidul Fitr in 2025 will likely fall on March 31, as the crescent moon is expected to be visible in most regions of Pakistan on the evening of March 30. At that time, the moon is anticipated to be over 26 hours old, fulfilling the conditions for visibility.
