In a welcomed development for consumers grappling with inflation, the prices of cooking oil and ghee have recently decreased, as confirmed by the Dealers Association.
According to the association, consumers can now purchase Brand A and Brand B cooking oil and ghee at significantly lower prices. Brand A cooking oil is now priced at Rs 525 per liter, marking a reduction of Rs 75, while Brand A ghee is priced at Rs 525 per kg after a reduction of Rs 25.
Similarly, Brand B ghee and cooking oil are now available at Rs 380 per liter, following a Rs 70 price decrease.
This decrease in prices offers a glimmer of hope amid broader economic challenges. The State Bank of Pakistan, in its half-yearly economic review report, has forecasted an inflation rate of 23 to 25 percent for the current financial year.
However, the report also provides optimism, predicting a gradual decline in inflation over the next six months. If this trend persists, the inflation rate could potentially decrease to as low as 5 to 7 percent by September 2025.
