ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has issued a show-cause notice to party leader Sher Afzal Marwat over his remarks against former chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
In an interview with Shahzeb Khanzada for Geo News, Marwat said that Gohar’s “unsatisfactory” performance led to his “removal” as chairman.
Following the election results, the party leadership’s approach was not commendable, he said, adding that Gohar should have led the party after the polls, but he failed.

His remarks came a day after Gohar announced that the PTI’s next chairman nominee is Barrister Ali Zafar. The party’s internal elections are scheduled to take place on March 3.
The party informed Marwat today that his remarks were intolerable since they violated party rules and caused a great deal of anguish.
“You are required to tender an unconditional apology within two days. If your reply is unsatisfactory or you do not respond, further action will be taken as per party policy and rules,” the letter sent by PTI’s central secretariat said.
