The bench also said that the government should take steps to promote cycling as a ‘culture’.

The court ordered that schools and offices should introduce work from home, and government offices should introduce two days per week of work at home.

Government offices should buy electronic bikes for their workers, the court ordered.

In addition, the court also asked multiple departments to submit a report on the steps being taken to fight pollution.

Lahore’s smog problem has been intensifying in recent years and authorities scramble at the approach of winter season each year to bring it under control.

With AQI ratings above 400 earlier this month, Lahore was declared the most polluted city in the world.

The government recently imposed smart lockdowns for four days to fight smog in multiple districts of Punjab.
