ISLAMABAD: A senior Pakistani executive of Google Tania Aidrus has stepped down from her position at the tech giant to lead Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Digital Pakistan initiative.
She has arrived in the country from Singapore to offer her service to the country’s digitalization programme. Prime Minister Khan inaugurated the digitalization initiative titled Digital Pakistan.
The prime minister had assigned the task of developing the programme to the Federal Ministry of Information and Technology in August. It completed the project within the stipulated time of three months.
The paperless environment will be introduced in government departments under this programme. The correspondence between the departments will be made through digital channels instead of papers.

The task of development of the programme was handed over to the Federal Ministry of Information and Technology in August. The project was completed within the targeted time of three months.
Ministry of Information Technology will supervise the project. Federal minister for IT Khalid Maqbool Sidddiqui had said that digitalizing Pakistan in the topmost preference of the government.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has hailed Tania Ardius saying patriotic people like her build nations. The government further said it is looking forward to her positive contribution in shaping the digital landscape of Pakistan.
