Despite the decrease in the prices of yellow metal in the international market on Saturday, the Pakistani jewels market witnessed a jump in gold prices as the price of 24-karat gold has surged by Rs500 per tola.
According to the All-Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24 karats of pure gold reached Rs2,25,500 per tola.
The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also increased by Rs429 to Rs1,93,330 per 10 grams in the local markets.
Rates of 10 grams of gold of 22 karats have also increased and traded at Rs1,77,219 per 10 grams on Saturday.
Gold prices decreased by US$19 in the international market and traded at US$1,990 per ounce.
The rate of 24 karats fine silver decreased by Rs80 per tola to Rs2,870 per tola while the price of 24 karats silver of 10 grams decreased by Rs68.58 to Rs2,460.56 per 10 grams.
