While sharing his thoughts on Javed Akhtar controversy, Pakistan’s celebrity bureaucrat Hazim Bangwar has said that it’s not appropriate for guests to offend people of the host country.
Earlier, Bollywood lyricist Javed Akhtar created controversy when he gave anti-Pakistan remarks during his visit to Lahore for Faiz Festival, blaming Pakistan for harboring terrorists while the local audiences kept applauding him. Ali Zafar then hosted a celebration in his honor, where Pakistanis could be seen sitting at his knees and others even crying for no apparent reason. Since then, Indian media has praised Javed Akhtar for defaming Pakistan, while many Pakistanis also spoke out and expressed what the entire country felt following the incident.

“Everyone is entitled to have his opinion,” Mr. Bangwar said during an appearance on local tv show “I don’t generally like to talk about controversial things, but I think when someone is a visitor in another country, he should arrive, enjoy the food, and then depart with courtesy. One should not insult local people or their culture and voice disapproval even you don’t like something there.”
It’s worth mentioning that since being appointed as the new assistant commissioner of North Nazimbad, Karachi, the 29-year-old has become the talk of the town for his new position as well as for his distinctive personal style.
The multi-talented bureaucrat is at home in both the fashion world and on stage with a microphone.
Bangwar, who was born in Karachi but was reared in New York and went to school in London, has degrees in law and fashion design from the University of London and the American InterContinental University London, respectively.
