Formerly Lollywood star Meera Jee believes that Bollywood superstar and former Miss World Priyanka Chopra is overrated.
The Meera Jee, who has been visiting the US in recent days, was quite dismissive of former Miss World Priyanka Chopra.
Priyanka Chopra, who appears to have decided to leave Bollywood in favor of trying her luck in Hollywood alongside her boyfriend, lead singer of the Jonas Brothers, Nick Jonas, was brought up during the interview with Meera Jee.
The question was straightforward, but the person who had to respond quickly earned a reputation as Lollywood’s most contentious actor—a role expertly played by Meera.
“Priyanka Chopra is overrated,” Meera stated matter-of-factly.
“She was pushed into Bollywood by the Hindu extremist’s lobby and by the Indian government lobby,” the actor said, who herself enjoyed a brief if a largely forgettable and abortive stint in Bollywood.
She went on to call the former Miss World a ‘hypocrite’.
“She is a hypocrite. I challenge her to do a scene with me. Let’s see who will do it better.”
