BELLERIVE OVAL: Scotland, causing a major upset, thrashed two-time Twenty20 World Cup champions West Indies by 42 runs in a group B match at the Bellerive Oval on Monday.
Opener George Munsey hit an unbeaten 66 as Scotland posted 160-5 after being put in to bat in Hobart and then bowled out the West Indies for 118 in 18.3 overs.

George Munsey remained top scorer with an unbeaten 66-run knock as Scotland put on a reasonable total on a drop-in wicket.
At the halfway point, Munsey declared that he supported his team’s ability to bowl well and praised Scotland for their outstanding performance. Although Mayers’ attack actually got West Indies off to a good start, Lewis and King were not given the freedom to bat freely.
Scotland then applied pressure using Watt and Leask. Until recently, the game was dominated by two-finger spinners using only clever lines and variations. West Indies lost wickets while playing dot after dot.
