Al-Khidmat

Riyatullah Farooqui by Riyatullah Farooqui

It was July 2019, the third day we shifted from Islamabad to Karachi. And the situation for three days was that the whole day would be spent making the house look like a house. I thought in the morning that everything will be fine by this evening, but when the evening comes, nothing seems to have happened. The weather was in captivity, so in this situation, the health was severely irritated. Suddenly our phone received a call from a strange number. The caller gave his name Fawad Sherwani and asked for a meeting. We gave a curt reply that we will not finish setting up the house for ten days on Saturday, so wait till then. It was said before, if there is any service worthy of us, then order it. We said “Internet connection required, can we get it?” We said this because PTCL had replied to us that we have no slots available. So we thought that Fawad would say that we cannot do this work. So we will tell them that services smaller than this are currently not available with us, you should contact them after ten days for an appointment. But Fawad said “This is a minor task, WhatsApp your home address” After half an hour we got a call from PTCL to collect the connection fee. And the next day the connection was made. Thus, we immediately invited Fawad to the scattered house. At the meeting, it was found that Fawad belongs to Jamaat-e-Islami. And helping others is their greatest passion.

In those days, one day at midnight, the electricity went out. It was not a matter of load shedding because we were only missing electricity. We called Fawad at 1.30am and informed him. He appeared with an electric car at two o’clock at night. And power was restored within ten minutes. In the next few years, more important figures of Jamaat-e-Islami also graced our meeting, among whom the Deputy Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Merajul Huda Siddiqui, is the foremost.

The noteworthy aspect is that as soon as we shifted to Karachi from Islamabad, Jamaat-e-Islami friends “surrounded” the person who had been criticizing their party. And in this environment, there was no question that why do you criticize us? Nor was it a request that Allah should give life now. On the contrary, when we criticized any strategy or policy of the party even in the meetings, the same thing was said to each of our sentences, “You are right”.

Even more noteworthy aspect is that we shifted from Islamabad to Karachi. And our stay in Islamabad spanned 25 years. It is forbidden in these twenty-five years that any party has harmed us. Whereas Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi had already fully engaged us in twenty-five days. Do you know why the Jamaat-e-Islami of the two cities is different from each other? The main difference is that “Al-Khidmat” is the home of the welfare organization of Jamaat-e-Islami in Karachi. The taste of Jamaat-e-Islami of the city is not for leadership but for service. Here, Jamaat-e-Islami does political activities when it has free time from service due to any calamity. It was the result of this service that Fawad Sherwani surrounded us as soon as he was informed of our arrival in Karachi. Believe me, if they wanted something from us, four years was a long time to express it. For the last four years only we have been making requests and every request is being fulfilled.

The excellence of Al-Khidmat is not what it has proved in the field of services. Rather, the miracle is that there is not a single chip on its bottom. It is undoubtedly an organization that collects billions of rupees in donations and spends them across the length and breadth of the country. But this organization, which has been busy for years, does not have a single financial or administrative scandal. Otherwise, in the same country, there is also a person who has spent charity money on politics. And whose secret bank accounts are constantly being exposed.

Pakistan is currently facing the worst kind of calamity, so the entire Jamaat-e-Islami has converted to “Al-Khidmat”. Its entire focus is service. And the service was also of such a level that even the worst opponents of Jamaat-e-Islami could not live without praising it. But the so-called “charity champion” is such that even in this calamity his priority is the fight for his power. He is playing jalsa jalsa from city to city. And this is a sign of his inferiority in this game too that not long ago he gave the title of Mir Jaffar to someone else, but today four numbers of Mir Jaffar have appeared from his own party. One tried to create a mutiny in the army, while the other three were caught red-handed trying to stab the economic artery of Pakistan.

It was as if the fire brigade was trying to put out the fire of a building engulfed in flames and some salt-haram people were spraying petrol on the same building from the back street. Bani Gala’s scholars are taken refuge. His children are sitting in England. And there are secret bank accounts worth billions of rupees that are being exported. So, what is the lack of asylum seekers? Life is the reward of those on whom this evil was imposed. And they were going to cause further destruction to the country’s economy in the guise of floods. It is a straightforward case of treason, but no action was taken by the government. Maybe because she knows the Somotos will be offended.
