ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Shahbaz Gill has been produced in court today on completion of physical remand.
According to details, PTI Chairman’s Chief of Staff Shahbaz Gill was produced in the Magistrate Court of Islamabad today.
Magistrate Court Judge Omar Shabir heard the case. Shahbaz Gill was produced before the District and Sessions Court by the Kohsar Police Station. Strict security arrangements have also been made on this occasion.
Police personnel has been deployed in and around the court premises to deal with any untoward incident. The police have so far failed to recover Shahbaz Gill’s mobile phone. It is likely that the police will request further physical remand of Shahbaz Gill today.
Earlier, the police requested a 14-day physical remand of Shahbaz Gill, which the court rejected and approved a two-day physical remand. Shahbaz Gill’s lawyer, Faisal Chaudhry, opposed the 14-day physical remand and said that he should be transferred to jail on transit remand.
While pleading for physical remand in the court, the police officials had taken the position that the mobile phone of the accused Shahbaz Gul should be recovered, and the paper the accused was talking about should also be recovered. The police were also of the position that the program should be investigated on whose request Shahbaz Gul’s lawyer said that my client did not do the program at anyone’s request.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court reserved the decision for some time. And later ordered to appear in court again on Friday, August 12. A case was registered against Shahbaz Gill in Kohsar Police Station on the complaint of City Magistrate Ghulam Murtaza Chandio on Tuesday, August 9, while his arrest also took place on the same day.
It should be noted that Shahbaz Gill was brought to the court in handcuffs, while the Anti-Terrorism Squad personnel surrounded him. A heavy police force was deployed in and around the court premises to deal with any untoward incident, in which police commandos were also present. On the occasion of a court appearance, no leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf was present on this occasion, nor was any worker present.

The doors of the court were locked after the PTI leader was brought into the courtroom, while media representatives were also barred from entering. The police said that media representatives have been stopped on the order of the judge.
The details of the sedition case registered against Shahbaz Gul in the City Magistrate’s complaint have come out. 10 cases of serious nature including alleged treason against institutions are registered in Kohsar police station.
It is recorded in the FIR that Shahbaz Gul along with his colleagues spoke words on a private TV channel to fulfill an agenda.
