Air Sial, a private Pakistani airline, launched weekly flights from Islamabad to Riyadh this week, with two flights scheduled per week.
The airline announced that flights from Lahore to the Saudi capital will be introduced soon.
Air Sial’s management announced plans to increase services from Lahore in the near future, while the airline revealed the new Islamabad-Riyadh route in a statement provided to media on Sunday.
The airline’s regional office in Riyadh was inaugurated on Thursday by Pakistan’s Welfare Attaché, Rana Muhammad Masoom, in a ceremony attended by Air Sial’s country and regional management as well as community members.
Saudi Arabia attracts thousands of Pakistani visitors each year, including workers and those traveling for the Umrah pilgrimage in Makkah and Madinah.
Several Pakistani airlines, including Air Sial, offer direct, affordable flights to key Saudi cities such as Riyadh and Jeddah, fostering stronger ties and promoting religious tourism between the two allied nations.
