QUETTA: Daily life was disrupted after dust storms followed by heavy rains hit parts of Chagai, Nushki, Washuk and Kharan districts of Rakhshan division in Balochistan.
The new spell of pre-monsoon rains began on Saturday after the rain system entered from Iran. Many parts of Chagai district, including the areas near the border with Iran and Afghanistan, received heavy rains, followed by flooding in rainwater streams.
Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan and surrounding areas observed dust storms, leaving the residents to stay homes for many hours. In Dalbandin, power breakdown left the residents to suffer for many hours amid dust storm.
The intensity of hot weather turned lower after recent rainfalls in Chagai, Nushki, Kharan and Washuk.
On the other hand, Murree, Islamabad, Hafizabad, Dadu, Kachho and Tharparkar also received rain. Northern areas like Nanga Parbat and Babu Sir Top received snowfall.
It may be recalled that the Hassanabad bridge, which was earlier damaged by a flash flood caused by a glacier eruption in Hunza, was rebuilt for transportation after six days.
