KARACHI: A Chinese citizen accidentally reached Kati Pahari, the cliff that used to be infamous for ethnopolitical violence and drug trafficking for a tourist spot.
Upon receiving the information, the local police moved in and searched for the Chinese national, and took him to the hotel. However, it was not clear how the Chinese national reached Karachi immediately after his arrival.
Senior Superintendent of Police Central said that the Chinese people came to Pakistan on a business visa and may have reached Kati Pahari as a tourist destination. The SSP said that the Peerabad police station was informed that a Chinese national was walking in the area with his belongings, after which a police team reached Kati Pahari and the Chinese man was found and taken to the hotel.
It should be noted that there were years in Karachi when Kati Pahari was considered a very dangerous area in terms of drugs and weapons. However, after the restoration of peace in the city, peace has been established on Kati Pahari.
